WATAN concludes new agreements to limit the spread of the pandemic

COVID-19 still poses a great danger to the population of northern Syria despite the slight decrease in the number of infections compared to before. To limit its spread, WATAN has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic since its spread in northwest Syria.

In cooperation with the organisation NORWAC, WATAN is operating two community treatment centers for COVID-19 patients in Maarat Misrin and the Al-Bab area. The two centers provide many services to infected patients. To ensure the continuity of work within the two centers and to provide the necessary support to the patients, an agreement was signed with NORWAC to support the community treatment center in the city of Al-Bab, in addition to increasing the capacity of the oxygen station in “WATAN Center 2” in order to support a larger number of health facilities with oxygen. An agreement was also signed with the World Health Organization to support the community treatment center in Maarat Misrin for a period of three months to ensure the continuity of work in the center.
