Watan Launches a Project to Support Aleppos’ Main Blood Bank

As part of its efforts to strengthen the healthcare sector in Aleppo, Watan has begun supporting the operation of the main blood bank center in Aleppo, named the Watan 7 Aleppo Blood Bank Center. Implemented with support from the Norwegian Aid Agency (NORWAK), the project aims to ensure the continuity of the center’s operations and to meet patients’ blood needs safely and efficiently.

The project, which will extend over ten months, focuses on providing medical supplies and covering the center’s operational costs.

The project’s main objectives include:

Raising the capacity and efficiency of the center’s staff through a comprehensive training package.

Upgrading the center’s infrastructure to provide a safer and more effective work environment.

Equipping the facility with new medical devices and replacing outdated equipment to improve performance.

This initiative marks a significant step in Watan’s ongoing work to strengthen blood bank services across Syria. The Aleppo Blood Bank is the seventh center supported by Watan, following successful operations in Idlib, Salqin, Al-Bab, Azaz, Mare’, and Ariha.
